BRITISH MUSEUM
It is one of the greatest museums of the world, showing the
works of man from prehistoric to modern times with collection
from the whole world. It was founded in 1753 by Act of Parliament,
from the collections of Sir Hans Sloane, it includes famous
objectsthe Rosetta Stone, sculptures from the Parthenon, the
Sutton Hoo and Mildenhall treasures and the Portland Vase. There
is also a programme of special exhibitions and daily gallery
tours, talks and guided tours.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
There are hundreds of exciting, interactive exhibitions. Highlights
include 'Dinosaurs', 'Creepy-Crawlies', guaranteed to have you
scratching in minutes; 'Human Biology', the exhibition about
ourselves; 'Ecology' and 'Mammals', with its unforgettable blue
whale, 'The Power Within', offering an 'earthquake experience'.
Phase One of the new Darwin Centre offers a chance to see the

It shows the major scientific advances of the last 300 years.
With over 40 galleries, and 2000 hands on exhibits you can step
into the future - change your sex, age 30 years in 30 seconds

With a state-of-the-art IMAX cinema and virtual reality simulator
there really is something to entertain and inspire all!

VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM

You can see ceramics, furniture, fashion, glass, jewellery,
metalwork, photographs, sculpture, textiles and paintings. It
is the greatest museum of art and design and is the home of
3000 years of amazing artefacts from the world's richest cultures.
Highlights include the breathtaking Cast Courts, the national
collection of paintings by Constable, a large collection of
Italian Renaissance sculpture and the British Galleries, illustrating
the history of Britain through the country's art and design.

It displays Western European painting from about 1250-1900.
It includes works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt,
Gainsborough, Turner, Renoir, Cezanne and Van Gogh. It also

guided tours and holiday events for children and adults.

Portraits from oil and watercolour to sculpture and drawings
depict famous and infamous British men and women from the
Tudors to the present day. Lectures and tours are held, and
holiday programmes are arranged for children.

TATE
BRITAIN
It is the national gallery of British art from 1500 to the
present day, the Tudor's to the Turner Prize. It holds the
greatest collection of British art in the world including
works by Constable, Gainsborough, Gilbert and George, Hockney,
Hodgkin, Hogarth, Moore, Rossetti and Turner. It presents
the world's greatest collection of British art.
From Nov 2001, it provides additional galleries, a new entrance,
shops and improved visitor facilities.

LONDON’S TRANSPORTS
MUSEUM
You can travel through time and discover the colourful story
of London and its famous transport system from 1800 to the present
day. Exciting displays of buses, trams, trains, posters, plus
touch-screen displays, videos and working models bring the whole
story to life.

MUSEUM OF LONDON
You can discover over 2000 years of the capital's
history from prehistoric to modern times. It brings alive all
aspects of London living through the ages. Highlights include
the Roman gallery,
reconstructed Victorian walk including shops, Newgate prison,
the Great Fire Experience and a display of Elizabethan jewellery.
Galleries are arranged in chronological order but designed so
that visitors can start at any period.
